Subliminal Programming Mentalist Techniques

Noted real estate executive Irving Langer has served as the CEO of Brooklyn-based E & M Associates for more than four decades. Outside of his successful career in New York City real estate, Irving Langer pursues his interests in Psychology and mind reading and magic by increasing his understanding of mentalists’ techniques.

Mentalists use their knowledge of human psychology to perform impressive feats of intuition and prediction. Mentalists commonly use techniques such as subliminal programming to influence the way their audience interprets the illusion. Through subliminal programming, a mentalist can subtly introduce specific imagery or ideas to an audience.

For example, modern mentalist Derren Brown filled a shopping mall with messages that encouraged people to give to the less fortunate. He then sat in the mall dressed as a homeless man and was given more than $300 by unsuspecting patrons.

Subliminal messages can also be much more simple, such as making circular motions with the hands to encourage the audience to imagine a round shape.
