Fire Island National Seashore

Part of the National Park Service since the early 1960s, Fire Island is best known for its historic lighthouse, which was erected in 1826. The island is also home to the Otis G. Pike Wilderness area and hosts diverse animal species, including herons and white-tailed deer.

Chautauqua Lake

Situated in the western part of the state, Chautauqua Lake is a popular vacation spot for fishing and boating enthusiasts. Areas of the lake region can rise to nearly 2,000 feet above sea level, making Chautauqua Lake one of the highest lakes in the country.

Jones Beach State Park

The 6.5-mile-long park lies on the Atlantic Ocean and attracts millions of visitors annually. Jones Beach is packed with restaurants and recreational activities such as mini golf and basketball. The beach is also home to the Northwell Health Theater, a concert venue that attracts world-famous performers.
